Five-time champions Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs in the eliminator match of IPL 2023 to make it to the qualifiers. They will now face Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier. Along with the 81-run defeat from Mumbai, an embarrassing record has also been registered in the name of Lucknow Super Giants.

In the match, Mumbai Indians scored 182 runs at the loss of 8 wickets. In reply, Lucknow Super Giants were bundled out for 101 runs in 16.3 overs in front of Akash Madhwal's deadly bowling. With this, Lucknow, captained by Krunal Pandya, became the third team in the Eliminator matches in the IPL to get all out on a small score while chasing.
