In his message, Yunus has described Bangladesh as a secular country where all classes live together with love and affection.

Yunus said, “For thousands of years, people of all religions have been living together in this country irrespective of caste, color, and religion. This country belongs to all of us and is a safe place for all people, irrespective of their religion or caste.” He further said, “On August 5, through an unprecedented uprising of students, workers, and the general public, an interim government was formed, which is continuously working to improve the fate of all irrespective of caste, religion and race and to ensure their equal rights.”

What did Yunus say about Goddess Saraswati?

Yunus said, "Goddess Saraswati is a symbol of truth, justice and the light of knowledge. She is the almighty of knowledge, speech and sweetness." Yunus congratulated her and said, "On the occasion of the worship of Goddess Saraswati, I appeal to all Hindus to contribute to the development and progress of the country by becoming worshippers of knowledge.

Violence against minorities in Bangladesh

Yunus' greetings have come at a time when Bangladesh is constantly being accused of violating the rights of minorities and violence against them. There are reports of many anti-Hindu incidents after the fall of Sheikh Hasina, which the Yunus government has been denying. In this greeting, Mohammad Yunus wished peace, welfare and prosperity for all the citizens of the country.
