An Indigo flight going from Delhi to Jeddah had to make an emergency landing in Karachi on Saturday. The reason behind this is said to be a medical emergency. The emergency landing took place at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CA), the plane took off from New Delhi on Saturday. When the plane was in Pakistan's airspace, a male passenger, aged 55, fell seriously ill.

asked for permission to land

After seeing the condition of the sick passenger, the pilot gave him oxygen support on the first flight, but even after this, there was no improvement in his condition. The young man's condition was continuously deteriorating. When the young man's health deteriorated, the flight was in Pakistan region.

Seeing the medical emergency, the pilot contacted the Air Traffic Control (ATC) and asked for permission to land in Pakistan. The air traffic control allowed the Indigo plane to land in Karachi on humanitarian grounds.

As soon as the flight landed in Pakistan, the medical team immediately reached the flight for emergency treatment. The young man was treated. After which his condition improved. According to sources, after the treatment of the passenger, the flight left Karachi and returned to New Delhi instead of going to Jeddah.

Emergency landing has happened in Pakistan before

Emergency landings have been made several times in Pakistan in emergency situations. In November too, an IndiGo flight from Jeddah to Hyderabad was forced to land in Karachi, Pakistan due to a medical emergency.
