Just 6 hours after the fall of the Assad government in Syria after rebel attacks, Israel sent its army to the Syrian areas near the Golan Heights. Israel has described this deployment as necessary for its security. The entire focus of this new operation of Israel is currently on 3 areas of Syria, which include Quneitra, Nawa, and Daraa. Israel has carried out more than 100 air strikes in Syria and is continuously expanding the scope of its attacks.

Israel has also started its attacks in the demilitarized zone from the Golan Heights. Israel has now entered 14 km into the Syrian region, although Israeli officials have described this occupation as temporary.

Israel's biggest focus is on Dara.

Israel is continuously targeting ammunition and weapons depots during air strikes in Daraa. Israel believes that this area has been providing help to the West Bank and arms are also supplied to South Lebanon from here. It is worth mentioning that anti-Assad protests started in Daraa in 2011.

Daraa is about 150 km away from the West Bank, but Israel was neither able to conduct surveillance nor take any action in this area. Israel's aim is to weaken the military capability of Iran-backed groups and ensure its security in the region and moving forward with this aim, Israel has started its new operation. This operation has been named New East.

Israel was looking for this opportunity.

Some people believe that Israel was already expecting to start its operation only when rebel groups take over Syria so that there would be no army in these areas to respond to it.
