When America dialed the number, Yunus of Bangladesh came on the line! He spoke in unison on the protection of Hindus.
The violence against minorities in Bangladesh is not hidden from anyone. The recent attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh have also drawn the attention of America. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke to the interim government's chief advisor Mohammad Yunus on Monday and raised the issue of the safety of Hindus.
Yunus's tone has also changed after receiving a call from America. When Jake Sullivan talked to Yunus about human rights, Yunus expressed his commitment to protecting human rights in Bangladesh with Sullivan. This conversation with Sullivan took place in the last month of the Biden administration, which gives the message that the new administration coming to the White House will not let Yunus do as he pleases.
Indian American had demanded
Sullivan's phone call came a few days after Indian American Democratic Congress member Thanedar's demand. Thanedar had urged the White House to strongly raise the issue of killing of Hindus and destruction of their temples in Bangladesh.
Raising the issue of Bangladeshi Hindus, Thanedar had said that America has a proud history of helping the victims and the violence in Bangladesh is no different. He had appealed that America should urge Bangladesh's head Mohammad Yunus to restore peace and fulfill his promise of rebuilding the nation on the principles of equality and justice.
Yunus promised protection
While talking to Sullivan, Yunus expressed his commitment to the protection of minorities. Sullivan also assured the support of the US to Bangladesh for its development and to face the challenges.
Yunus-Chakravarti failed to stop Jamaat-e-Islami
Utsav Chakraborty, executive director of the Hindu Action Organization of America, said that what has happened in Bangladesh in the last five months clearly shows that Muhammad Yunus has failed to stop his colleagues of Jamaat-e-Islami. Who are now roaming around the country, burning temples, killing people, raping women and committing atrocities against the priests and leaders of the Hindu community by imprisoning them.
