What message did Israel send through the military operation in Lebanon and the death of Nasrallah?
Even after the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, Israel's air strikes on Lebanon continue. The Israeli army is carrying out military operations in Lebanon with great aggression and speed. This is the reason why Israel has eliminated the entire top leadership of Hezbollah in just 10 days.
After the ongoing military operation in Lebanon and the killing of the Hezbollah chief, Israel is now targeting the Houthi rebels, meaning the signals are clear that no enemy will be spared. These ongoing conflicts in the Middle East not only demonstrate Israel's ability to fight wars on different fronts, but it has also given many big messages through this.
First: The power to kill the enemy wherever he is
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had said in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly that there is no place that Israel cannot reach, and shortly after this, the Israeli army proved his claim true.
Israel killed Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in its headquarters. About two months before this attack, Israel was also held responsible for the death of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, who had come to Tehran as a state guest. Apart from this, be it Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr or Hamas's Al-Qassam Brigade chief Mohammad Daif, Israel easily eliminated its enemies one by one.
Second: The war in Gaza will not stop
Netanyahu has made it clear regarding the Gaza war that the fighting in Gaza will continue until the Hamas fighters surrender. Despite several rounds of talks under the mediation of the US, Qatar, and Egypt, no agreement has been reached on a ceasefire in Gaza. After the Israeli attacks in Lebanon, the possibility of this now seems very less.
Since 8 October, when Israel started a military operation against Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah started attacks in North Israel. Hezbollah says that until Israel stops attacks in Gaza, it will continue to target Israel. But now when Israel has started a Gaza-like action against Hezbollah in Lebanon as well, the message is clear that this war is not going to stop for the time being.
Third: Attacks on Iran's proxy groups will increase
After Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel has now started attacks against Houthi rebels in Yemen. Israel has made it clear that it will no longer tolerate Iran and its proxy groups. It is clear that in the coming days, Israel's action against Iran's proxy groups will intensify.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had mentioned attacks on 7 fronts by Iran-backed groups in the UNGA, meaning that Israel can now take action against the enemy on all these fronts. The air strikes launched in Yemen seem to be a part of this.
Fourth: Iran's threats have no effect
Iran has been criticizing Israel's actions since the beginning of the war in Gaza. After the death of Ismail Haniyya in Tehran, Iran also threatened to take revenge on Israel. But no concrete action has been taken by Iran so far. On the other hand, about 2 months after Haniyya's death, Israel also killed Iran's favorite Shia leader Hassan Nasrallah.
That is, Iran's empty threats do not seem to make any difference to Israel. Israel is dealing with its enemies and Iran's close associates one by one, but only rhetoric has been seen from Iran's side so far. It has not taken any such decision militarily or diplomatically that could cause any harm to Israel.
Fifth: Response to government opponents in Israel
Through the action taken by Netanyahu and his army in Lebanon, they have not only sent a message to Iran and its supporting groups but it is also being considered a strong reply to the anti-government elements within Israel.
Israeli hostages have not been freed from Hamas's clutches yet, due to which protests and resentment against the Netanyahu government were increasing in Israel, while right-wing leaders like Ben Gvir, who are part of the government, were also constantly attacking Netanyahu. Opposition leaders repeatedly accused Netanyahu of failing to handle the situation, but after eliminating the top leadership of Hezbollah in just 10 days of action in Lebanon, the Netanyahu government has silenced the opponents.
