Blinken said that Ukraine cannot fight against Russia with one hand tied behind its back. Ukraine should be able to fight against Russia's barbaric attack. Norway's Foreign Minister, Espen Barth Eide, said that his country believes that Ukraine has a clear right under international law to attack Russia inside Russia as part of the defense of its territory.

A big update has come from the US amid the Russia-Ukraine war. According to US officials, President Joe Biden has allowed Ukraine to use US weapons to attack inside Russia for the limited purpose of protecting Kharkiv.

Sources said that there has been no change in US policy of not allowing Ukraine to use US missiles and other weapons for offensive attacks inside Russia. The move comes as Ukrainian officials have intensified demands from the US administration to allow their forces to defend themselves against attacks from Russian territory.

Ukraine Attacks Inside Russia

Biden's decision was first reported by Politico. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday criticized Russian attempts to sow discord in democracy with misinformation and indicated that the Biden administration could soon allow Ukraine to use US-supplied weapons to attack inside Russia.

Blinken joined NATO foreign ministers for a meeting in Prague, where he said Moscow's use of misinformation and disinformation was a poison. At the same time, he signed an agreement with the Czech government to counter it.

1 million rounds of ammunition

He also visited a Czech military base, where he saw armored vehicles that Prague is sending to Kiev to help it fight Russia's aggression and held a briefing on a Czech initiative to supply 1 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine by the end of the year. Blinken said that we know that a major front in the competition between us, especially our adversarial relationship with Russia, is on the information front.

He said that the US agreement with partner countries along with Czechs will help to effectively deal with misinformation and disinformation. Which is being done by our opponents to poison our democracies. Blinken told reporters at a ceremony with Czech Foreign Minister Jan that the more we can work together with other countries, the more effectively we will expose and deal with it.

Countering Russia's continuous attack

Lipavsky agreed, saying that Czech officials had recently exposed a large Russian-backed misinformation campaign. He said that we are facing a confrontation between democracies and autocratic regimes. At a separate NATO-related event on Thursday, Lipavsky said that Ukraine needs resources to counter Russia's continuous attack.

He said that Ukraine cannot fight against Russia with one hand tied behind its back. Ukraine should be able to fight against Russia's barbaric invasion even on Russian territory. Norway's foreign minister, Espen Barth Eide, said his country believes Ukraine has a clear right under international law to attack Russia inside Russia as part of its defense of its territory.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine and support for Ukrainian efforts to repel it will be a major focus of NATO foreign minister meetings today. In Moldova on Wednesday, Blinken said US policy on how Ukraine deploys US weapons is constantly evolving.

Use of US weapons

While US officials have been stressing that there is no formal ban, they have long made it clear that they believe the use of US weapons to attack targets inside Russia could provoke a sharp response from Moscow, which Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised.

Blinken visited Kiev earlier this month and heard a direct appeal from Ukrainian President Zelensky that US military aid be used to strike at locations in Russia from where attacks on Ukraine are launched.

Need to attack inside Russia

Earlier this week, French President Emmanuel Macron and NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said that Western countries should not object if Ukraine needs to attack inside Russia to defend itself. Stoltenberg reaffirmed that position on Thursday.

He said, "I believe the time has come to reconsider these sanctions so that Ukrainians can defend themselves. We need to remember what this is. This is a war of aggression launched by Moscow against Ukraine by choice." He said, the right to self-defense also includes attacking legitimate military targets outside Ukraine.
