US plot to stage a coup in Venezuela fails, Maduro government makes big claim!
Many countries, including the opposition, have raised questions about the results of the presidential election held in Venezuela on July 28. Now Venezuela's Maduro government has claimed that the allegation of rigging in the presidential election results was part of an American conspiracy.
According to the Maduro government, the US CIA and Spain's intelligence agency had conspired together to carry out the coup, which the government has foiled. The Venezuelan government has said that 4 Americans and some other foreign nationals have been detained, alleging that these people were involved in the coup plot
However, the US and Spanish governments have rejected this entire claim. The US State Department has called these claims false. It has also been said that these arrests have been made due to criticism of the presidential election by the US. Venezuelan opposition leaders Edmundo Gonzalez and Maria Corina Machado had claimed rigging in the election, the opposition says that Gonzalez got double the votes in the presidential election but the data given by the Election Commission showed Maduro's victory. At the same time, the US also supported this claim of the opposition.
Many countries, including the US, rejected these results, after which there were many protests in Venezuela. Opposition leaders released a tally sheet related to the election results, according to which the opposition has received twice as many votes as Maduro. But the Maduro government called it anti-national and started taking action against the opposition leaders; opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez had to flee to Spain last month to avoid arrest.
Venezuela's Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello has claimed that among those arrested, there are 4 American citizens, 2 Spanish and one Czech Republic citizen. The Maduro government claims that these people had come to Venezuela to assassinate the President. According to Cabello, the US Justice Department had announced a reward of $15 million in 2020 for information leading to the arrest or conviction of President Nicolas Maduro, the arrested accused wanted to kill Maduro to get the reward money.
US Navy SEALs also involved in the conspiracy along with the CIA?
The interior minister says that not only the CIA but also the US Navy SEALs were involved in this entire conspiracy. To carry out the conspiracy, the US had sent 400 US-made rifles and other weapons in a shipment that has now been seized. The Maduro government has described two other American citizens as 'hackers' who wanted to disrupt Venezuela's power supply. Interior Minister Cabello has called it a terrorist activity and alleged that these people were also behind the blackout that happened in late August.
White House acknowledges arrest.
However, White House spokesman John Kirby has accepted the arrest of the American officer. According to the White House, Wilbert Castaneda is an active service member of the US Navy, who went to Venezuela on a personal visit. At the same time, according to a media report, Castaneda has dual citizenship in America and Mexico. He used to work as a Navy SEAL but some time ago this status was taken away from him. Let us tell you that the Venezuelan government has called Castaneda the mastermind of the entire conspiracy.
Serious allegations have already been made against America.
This is not the first time that Venezuela's Maduro government has made a serious allegation against the US. Earlier in 2018, Maduro had accused the US and then President Donald Trump of conspiring to assassinate him through a drone attack during his speech. After this, the Maduro government blamed the CIA and Washington for the rebellion in April 2019. Also, in September 2019, an American citizen Matthew Heath was arrested and claimed that he was spying on Venezuela's oil refineries in Falcon.
In recent times, America has been accused of plotting coups in many countries. Whether it is the rebellion against Sheikh Hasina's government in Bangladesh or the fall of Imran Khan's government in Pakistan, America has been accused of conspiracy in both these incidents.
