Indian-Origin Students Killed in US: Three Indian-origin students died, while two others were injured in a car accident in the American state of Georgia last week. According to media reports, the five students were 18 years old and studied at Alpharetta High School and the University of Georgia (UGA).


Police believe speed may have been a factor in a fatal crash that occurred on May 14 in Alpharetta, Georgia.

According to media reports, police say that the driver lost control of the vehicle after which the vehicle overturned.

In the accident, Aryan Joshi and Shriya Avasarala died on the spot, while Anvi Sharma died during treatment in the hospital.

Officials said, 'The injured students - Rithwak Somepalli (Rithwak Somepalli) and Mohammed Liyakath (Mohammed Liyakath) are being treated at North Fulton Hospital in Alpharetta.'

Student peers pay tribute

Shriya Avasarala was a member of the UGA 'Shikari' dance team. Anvi Sharma sang with UGA artists and a cappella groups.

The artist group said that the death of Anvi Sharma is shocking and devastating.

Aryan Joshi was going to graduate from high school next week. "He was one of our biggest supporters and his support was one of the most important factors in all our victories," the Alpharetta High cricket team said in an Instagram post.

Last month

Two Indian students from Telangana died in an accident near Lake Pleasant in Arizona. Nivesh Mukka and Gautam Kumar Parsi, both 19, were traveling in a car when their vehicle collided with another car in Peoria. Both Nivesh and Gautam died in this accident.
