Ukraine's drone and missile attack on Russia-Crimea, six people killed, 124 injured

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday that air defense forces destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones in Russian regions overnight. At least one person was killed and 10 injured in a fresh attack on Kharkiv on Sunday, according to local authorities.

Ukraine's drone and missile attacks on Russia killed six people and injured more than 100 on Sunday, Russian officials said. At least one person died on the second day of Russia's bombing of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city. Moscow city governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said five people, including two children, were killed by falling debris after five Ukrainian missiles hit the Crimean port city of Sevastopol.

Russian state news agency RIA Novosti quoted the health ministry as saying that 124 people were injured in the attack. Razvozhayev declared today a day of mourning in the city and cancelled public events.

Attack on the city of Gravoron

Three Ukrainian drones attacked the town of Graivoron in Russia's Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, killing one person and wounding three others, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said. Half of Kharkiv loses electricity

Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the city was hit by a guided bomb and the attack left about half of Kharkiv without electricity. Earlier on Saturday afternoon, Russia dropped four bombs on a five-story residential building in Kharkiv, killing three people. Regional governor Oleh Sinyhubov said 41 people injured on Sunday were still being treated.

Appeal to strengthen air security

In a video after the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Ukraine's allies to strengthen its air defenses. Ukrainian air force commander Mykola Oleschuk said two people were injured by debris when two Russian missiles hit the Kiev region overnight.
