US President Donald Trump has taken many decisions since coming to power. Trump has already announced an increase tariffs for neighbouring countries Canada and Mexico. After this, Canada also threatened Trump, but Trump has blown away Canada's threat and has not backed down even an inch from his decision.

Donald Trump has prepared to crack down on two neighbouring countries Canada and Mexico on February 1. Trump has announced that his administration is going to impose a 25 percent tariff on imports from Mexico and Canada from February 1. After this, Canada warned Trump, but this warning did not have the power to change Trump's intentions.

What did President Trump say?

President Donald Trump has announced that he will do as he said earlier and will impose a 25 percent tariff on Canada and Mexico on February 1. Along with this, Trump has also indicated that he can take similar steps against China as well. Trump said that he will take a decision on Thursday night whether oil should be included in the list of tariff items or not.

Speaking to the media in the Oval Office of the White House on Thursday, the President said, we are announcing tariffs on Canada and Mexico for several reasons. Explaining these reasons, he said, America is going to increase tariffs because of illegal immigration, drug smuggling and the huge subsidies given by America to Canada and Mexico.

Will oil be included in the list?

The President also said, I am going to impose a 25 percent tariff on both Canada and Mexico. We have to do this because our deficit with those countries has become very large. Trump also said that the 25 percent tariff that he is imposing may or may not increase with time. Trump also said that he will consider whether he will include oil in this list of tariffs or not on Thursday night.

Regarding oil, the President said, we are probably going to take this decision on oil tonight. Because Canada and Mexico send us oil. It depends on what the price is. If the oil price is right and they treat us fairly, then we will think, which they do not do.

Speaking against Mexico and Canada, Trump said, Mexico and Canada have never been good with us in trade. Trump said that both the countries have behaved very unfairly with America in terms of trade.

“We don’t need Canada-Mexico stuff”

The President said that we do not need the goods that Canada and Mexico have. We have all the oil that Americans need. We have all the wood that Americans need. Mexico gives oil to America and Canada gives wood. Trump also said, we have more oil than anyone else.

He said, "We don't need anybody's trees (lumber), we have a lot of wood in this country. We don't need what they have. We have to give Canada a subsidy of US$175 billion per year and Mexico a subsidy of US$250 billion to US$300 billion per year.

Trump's whip will work on China too

Along with this, Trump said that he is also thinking of taking action against China for sending Fentanyl to America. Trump said that the reason for taking action against China is that Fentanyl is causing the death of hundreds and thousands of people for us. We are going to do such a thing that China will now also pay tariff for this. We will decide what is going to happen.

Trump said, “China has to stop sending fentanyl into our country and killing our people. Fentanyl is an addictive synthetic opioid that, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), is the deadliest drug threat in the country.

Canada had threatened the US

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had warned Trump on his threat. He had said that if Donald Trump moves forward towards imposing tariffs, then Canada will respond to it. He said that Ottawa is fully prepared to cause economic damage to America to push Trump back. PM Trudeau had warned President Trump that Canada will take very fast and strong retaliatory action. However, this counter-attack by Trudeau had no effect on Trump.
