The Trump-backed bill has not been passed in the US Parliament, and the House of Representatives has rejected the newly-elected President Trump's plan to fund federal operations and raise or suspend the debt limit a day before the government shutdown.

Nearly three dozen Republicans joined Democrats in voting against Trump's sudden demands and the solution crafted by GOP leaders. The bill was defeated in Congress by a margin of 174-235 and failed to secure a majority vote.

Trump supported the bill.

Donald Trump has called for the law to include a provision to raise or suspend the country's debt limit to prevent a government shutdown, a move his own party routinely opposes. He said in a statement on Wednesday that anything other than this is a betrayal of our country.

Vance blamed the Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, America's next Vice President JD Vance, while speaking to the media at Capitol Hill, alleged that the Democrats voted against the bill on Thursday to avoid a government shutdown because they did not want to give the President the advantage of negotiations during the first year of his new term.

The incoming vice president did not mention the 38 Republicans who voted against the bill, depriving Republican Speaker Mike Johnson of a victory as he tries to meet Trump's last-minute demands on the debt limit. Trump supported the bill shortly before the vote. " He asked for a shutdown and that's exactly what he's going to get," Vance said.
