Troubles are not ending for Iran in the Middle East, it lost everything in one year!

The problems for Iran in the Middle East are not ending. The current situation in Syria is the biggest example of this. After Hamas and Hezbollah, the fall of the Assad government shows that Iran is in its weakest position in the last 5 decades.

Iran has spent many years establishing and strengthening its proxy groups. It did not want to directly engage in a war with Israel, so it strongly supported proxy groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. Despite its sinking economy, Iran helped these proxy groups with arms and money, but if we take stock of the war that has been going on for the past year, then the one who has suffered the most in this is Iran.

Proxy groups were broken.

In the Middle East, Iran's proxy groups Hamas and Hezbollah have been fighting a war against Israel for about a year. Of course, Hamas gave Israel a big blow by suddenly attacking Israel on 7 October 2023, but perhaps Iran and its proxy groups did not realize that this time Israel can go to any extent to eliminate their threat and not only 56 Islamic countries but no power in the world will be able to stop it from doing so because a strong ally like America is supporting Israel in every situation.

Hamas wiped out from Gaza!

More than 45 thousand people have died in the Israeli attacks in Gaza that have been going on for the past one year. Many countries of the world and human rights monitoring organizations are calling the Israeli action in Gaza a genocide, but America has rejected all claims and evidence. Its strategy is clear that America will fully help Israel to whatever extent it wants to go to ensure its security.

This is the reason why Israeli attacks on Gaza continue despite the killing of two Hamas chiefs Ismail Haniyya and Yahya Sinwar. Netanyahu is being accused by his own citizens that he is no longer interested in getting the hostages released but rather his intention is to capture Gaza. The Israeli army has razed more than 70 percent of the buildings in Gaza to the ground. The work of destroying the tunnels, which are considered to be Hamas's biggest strength, is ongoing. By creating the Philadelphia corridor between Egypt and Gaza, and the Netzarim corridor between North and South Gaza, Netanyahu's army has implemented the strategy of preventing Hamas from regrouping.

Hezbollah's power in Lebanon is over!

On the other hand, Israel started a 'full-fledged war' in Lebanon from 23 September. In the last week of November, it agreed to a 60-day ceasefire with Hezbollah. But in the 'full-fledged war' that lasted for about 2 months, Israel has eliminated the entire top leadership of Iran's most powerful proxy and favourite Hezbollah. The death of Hassan Nasrallah, who commanded Hezbollah for about 3 decades, and his successor Hashim Safieddin has broken the back of Hezbollah for the time being. Many weapons depots of Hezbollah were destroyed in the ground operation of the Israeli army. Now it is almost impossible for Hezbollah to become as powerful and strong as before and the biggest reason for this is the fall of the Assad regime in Syria.

The fall of the Assad regime in Syria

In fact, Syria was a strong and necessary stronghold for Iran to keep the Axis of Resistance strong. Weapons also reached its proxy groups through this route. Due to the physical location of Syria, it has been important for all the players of this region. It acts as a buffer zone between the opposing forces of the region, Lebanon is to its west, Israel to the south-west, Jordan to the south, Iraq to the east and Turkey to the north.

Iran used to supply arms to Hezbollah in Lebanon via Iraq and Syria. It also used this route to train Hezbollah fighters and gain direct access to them. But now that the Assad government has been overthrown in Syria and Turkish-backed rebel groups have captured the capital Damascus, it will not be possible for Iran to easily supply arms to Hezbollah.

HTS leader Julani's blunt words to Iran

Mohammad al-Julani, the leader of Syria's main rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, has made it clear in his first speech after the victory that Syria will no longer follow Iran's orders. Julani has said that 'Iran cannot reach Lebanon from Syrian land. Now Iran's weapons will not be seen in our country.'

Meanwhile, the Israeli army and the US are also carrying out airstrikes in many areas of Syria. According to reports, Israel is creating a buffer zone around the occupied Golan Heights area. This means that Israel has started the exercise of securing itself from Iranian threats from all sides. Now it is clear that if Iran has to take on Israel, it will have to enter a direct war, which is not possible in any situation for Iran at the moment.
