This computer scientist was repeatedly claiming himself to be the inventor of Bitcoin, and will go to jail!

Australian computer scientist Craig Wright claimed that he invented Bitcoin. People know him as Satoshi Nakamoto. Now the court has taken a big action in this case. A UK court has sentenced Craig Wright to 12 months in jail for contempt.

While pronouncing the sentence, the court said that Craig Wright would now have to stop claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto. The court said that Wright had disobeyed the court many times before.

Craig may have to serve jail time.

Judge James Mellor found Wright guilty of five counts of contempt for repeatedly lying. For this, the court sentenced Craig to 12 months in prison and asked him to stop claiming to be the creator of Bitcoin. With this sentence, if Wright makes any mistake within the next two years, he can serve a prison sentence.

An international warrant is needed to detain Craig.

During the court hearing, Craig Wright joined via video link. Craig refused to tell the court where he lives. Craig said that he lives in Asia. This makes it clear that if the British authorities want to detain him, an international arrest warrant will have to be issued. However, Craig is originally from Australia and has been living in the UK for many years.

Wright told many lies to prove himself

In 2016, Wright claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin, the man who invented the world's first and largest cryptocurrency.

There has been a steady increase in the prices of cryptocurrencies. Especially after Donald Trump was elected President in the US, it has seen a boom. However, Wright was not able to provide concrete evidence for his claim. Due to which the cryptocurrency world largely ignored him.

To prove himself, Wright filed lawsuits against many companies that had once challenged crypto. Due to which many companies united and approached the court. The court said that Wright had told many big lies to prove his false claim right.

Wright is one of several people who have been identified as Satoshi either by themselves or by others. Many people have claimed to be Satoshi before this. Even after this, the real creator of Bitcoin has not been identified till date.
