There has been a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. As per the agreement, Hamas released 4 Israeli women on Saturday. In return, Israel also released 200 Palestinian prisoners. The names of the four women who were released are Karina Ariw, Daniela Gilboa, Naama Levi and Liri Albagh. Hamas handed over these four to the Red Cross on Saturday. What did Hamas make the Israeli hostages do?
The four Israeli women soldiers who were released from Hamas' captivity said that they were made to clean toilets. They were not even given food after cleaning the toilets. They were not even given clean water to drink. Many times they even had to cook food for Hamas fighters. They were treated very badly there.
All four women said that they were taken on a tour of the whole of Gaza during their captivity. The place where they were kept did not have sunlight and they had trouble breathing. Most of the time was spent in darkness. Along with this, the women were also made to meet some senior Hamas terrorists.
The four were kept together and had to look after their kidnappers' children. During this time they also learned to speak Arabic, Tel Aviv-based Ynet News reported, citing the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.
During the first days of their captivity, they were accompanied by an adult who took care of their food and bathing. That person mediated between them and the militants. They disguised themselves as Palestinian women and travelled from place to place in Gaza City, often living in tunnels. Sometimes there was no food and during the IDF bombing they "held on to each other."
