There is an atmosphere of fear in the entire city after the attack on the crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. In this attack, the attacker drove a pickup truck over the crowd, killing at least 15 people and injuring more than 30. New Orleans Police has now released many details about the attacker.

The attacker has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar and he was born in America. The surprising thing is that Shamsud Din Jabbar has also served in the US Army. Investigation agencies are investigating other aspects of the attack. The FBI has also found links of the attacker with ISIS, after which concerns have increased over the growing hold of ISIS in America.

How was the attack carried out?

Shamsud Din Jabbar reached Bourbon Street in New Orleans in a pickup truck, where he rammed his truck into a crowd on the road, then started firing and was killed in a shootout with the police. A black flag was also found in the attacker's truck, which is believed to be the flag of ISIS. According to the police, the incident took place at around 3:15 am local time in the middle of the French Quarter, where there was a crowd of people celebrating the New Year.

According to eyewitnesses, Jabbar arrived in a white Ford F-150 electric pickup and rammed into a group of pedestrians, after which he ran through the crowd and left the bar, and was killed in a shootout with police.

The attacker was in debt

Shamsud Deen worked at Jabbar's renowned accounting firm Deloitte, where he reportedly earned an annual salary of $120,000. However, despite the good salary, Jabbar was facing financial turmoil in his life, which increased further during his second divorce in 2012.

According to the New York Post report, Jabbar, who has an IT and military background, was heavily in debt. In an email sent to his ex-wife's lawyer, Jabbar admitted that he owed more than $27 billion in house dues and said that he was at risk of foreclosure (legal action over the land). Apart from this, he had charged $16 billion in interest on his credit card while paying court fees and expenses for another house. His real estate business also suffered a loss of about $28 thousand last year.

The attacker has many pets in his house

A lot of information has come to light about Shamsud Din Jabbar. He lives in a big house near a mosque in Houston. He also has sheep, goats and chickens in the courtyard of his house. Due to which it is being speculated that he either used to trade these animals or he kept these animals for eating meat.

Trump and Biden condemned

US President Joe Biden strongly condemned the incident and said that attacks on any community in our country will not be tolerated. At the same time, newly elected President Donald Trump also reacted strongly to the attack and held immigrants responsible for it.

President Biden spoke to New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell to get full details of the incident and expressed his condolences to the victims and their families. Trump also praised the New Orleans Police Department after the attacker was killed.
