The bail plea of Bangladeshi Hindu saint Chinmay Krishna Das was heard in the Chittagong Metropolitan Session Judge Court on Thursday. There the judge rejected the bail plea of the Hindu leader. As a result, Chinmay Krishna Das will have to remain in jail for the time being. Let us tell you that the first lawyer of the Bangladeshi Hindu leader, Shubhashish Sharma, has been hiding for a long time to avoid arrest. On the other hand, another lawyer Ravindra Das has been admitted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata due to chest pain, however, Chinmay Krishna's bail efforts did not stop even in his absence. Chinmay Krishna Das was produced in the court virtually.

On this day, in the absence of two main lawyers of the Chinmoy case, lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya, a team of 11 lawyers pleaded with Chinmoy Krishna Das' bail case, but the collective efforts were of no avail. Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Saiful Islam rejected the bail plea of the Hindu leader. He argued that sedition cases are non-bailable.

Sedition case against Chinmoy Das

Chittagong District Bar Association President Nazim Uddin Chowdhury opposed Chinmay Krishna Das' bail plea and said that there is a case of treason against him and there is a provision of life imprisonment in treason case. If he wants, he can go to the High Court. On the other hand, Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya said that they will appeal in the High Court against the decision of the Chittagong Court.

It is worth noting that after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in Bangladesh, there was an 'atmosphere of terror'. Since the formation of the interim government, the 'Yunus government's court' has granted bail to prominent militant leaders. But this time the bail petition of Sadhu Chinmay Krishna Das was rejected in that court.

Court granted bail to extremists, why not to Chinmay Das?

BNP vice president Abdus Salam Pintu, who was sentenced to death in the 2004 grenade murder case, got bail a few days ago. Earlier, former state minister for home Lutfuzzaman Babar and BNP chairman Tariq Rahman had got bail in the same case. Not only this, during Yunus' tenure, the death sentence of ULFA chief terrorist Paresh Barua was pardoned. Ansarullah Bangla Team chief Jasimuddin Rahmani has got bail in the blogger Rajiv Haider murder case, but despite so many extremist leaders getting bail, Chinmay Krishna Das' bail plea was rejected. Questions are being raised about this.

Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested in November

Chinmay Krishna Das was arrested from Bangladesh airport in November last year. He is the spokesperson of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Manch and Bangladesh United Minority Alliance. Chinmay Krishna Das has always been seen talking about the 'terror' on Bangladesh Hindus and their rights. When he raised his voice against the killing of Hindus that started in Bangladesh after the formation of Yunus' interim government, the Yunus government accused him of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh and filed a case of treason against him.
