The Ministry of External Affairs described the incident of sloganeering at a public event in Toronto as disturbing. The ministry said this once again reflects the political space that has been given to separatism, extremism, and violence in Canada.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that such an incident not only affects India-Canada relations but also promotes an environment of violence and crime against its own citizens.
