The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, one of the world's largest media organizations, has been accused of being funded by the US State Department. OCCRP is behind sensational revelations like the Panama Papers, Pandora Papers, and Suisse Secrets, and hence these allegations have put a question mark on the credibility of the organization.
Former Indian diplomat Ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar questioned why the organization which calls itself a whistleblower never shows itself in the mirror. It chose to show only half the story by not investigating America. Mediapart has exposed the funding of OCCRP, according to Mediapart, more than 50 percent of its funds come directly from the US State Department.
Glad that BJP picked up OCCRP now.

We have been writing about this since long that Soros and Rockefeller funded OCCRP gives Rahul Gandhi & others material to make it issue in parliament. This has been a pattern. During Adani fiasco also Hindenburg ilks used their reports. pic.twitter.com/IzWuPL5NB7
Conspiracy to destabilize India
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the US State Department and 'deep state' elements in the US are working in connivance with OCCRP to destabilize India. Abhijit Iyer Mitra, a senior research fellow at ICPS, explained how Mediapart and OCCRP used to work together. He says the new revelations could be due to some kind of lover's quarrel between the two organizations.
Attempts to tarnish India's image
News9 Plus editor Sandeep Unnithan said reports like the Religious Freedom Index and the Global Hunger Index tarnish India's global image despite its achievements. They are an extension of the US controlling the global narrative.
India has often been the victim of such 'investigative' reports. Ambassador Sajjanhar pointed out that some of these reports show India doing worse than Afghanistan on the Global Hunger Index. This is just one example of the misinformation being spread.
