Saudi Arabia sent Ramadan gifts to 102 countries

The holy month of Ramadan is starting from March and Muslims all over the world are preparing for it. Saudi Arabia is considered the center of Islam and every year the government here gives Zakat (charity) to many poor countries on the occasion of Ramadan, along with this gifts are also sent from Saudi Arabia all over the world.
Continuing the tradition of every year, Saudi King Salman has approved the program of distributing dates in 102 countries during the upcoming Ramadan. This year, 200 tons more than last year, i.e. 700 tons of dates will be sent to other countries. This program is being overseen by the Islamic Affairs Ministry of Saudi.
Priority given to propagation of Islam
The Saudi Islamic Affairs Minister expressed King Salman's gratitude for his continued support to Muslims around the world, especially during Ramadan. He stressed the Kingdom's commitment to promoting Islamic values and combating hatred, extremism and radicalism.
The ministry has finalised all logistics preparations for the shipment of dates and it is being sent to Saudi embassies, Islamic centres and organizations around the world with religious messages.
Dates in Ramadan
Dates have many health benefits, but they have a special significance in Islam. During the fast in Ramadan, Muslims prefer to break their iftaar with dates and this is called Sunnah.
Date producing countries
Dates are produced in large quantities in the Gulf countries. Egypt is the world's largest date producer, followed by Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. The best dates are considered to be the Ajwa dates from the Medina region of Saudi Arabia and its price in the Indian market is up to Rs 2 thousand per kg.
