PM Modi visited Singapore's semiconductor company, and signed this agreement with PM Wong
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a visit to Singapore. He has arrived in Singapore for a two-day visit, where he was also welcomed by PM Lawrence Wong. Sharing a picture with PM Modi, he wrote, PM Narendra Modi welcome to Singapore. PM Modi along with Lawrence Wong visited a leading Singapore company in the semiconductor and electronics sector on Thursday and discussed ways of cooperation in this important industry.
The Ministry of External Affairs issued a press statement saying that the two leaders visited AEM Holdings Limited and were briefed on the company's role in the global semiconductor value chain and its operations and plans for India. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X that PM Modi and PM Wong discussed opportunities for cooperation between India and Singapore with stakeholders.
Along with this, he was also informed by the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association on the development of the semiconductor ecosystem in Singapore and the opportunities for cooperation with India. Given India's efforts to develop the semiconductor ecosystem and Singapore's power in this field, both sides have decided to expand bilateral cooperation. The press statement also said that both sides have completed the Memorandum of Understanding on India-Singapore Semiconductor Ecosystem Partnership.
Not only this, but the two leaders also interacted with Indian trainees of Odisha World Skill Center undergoing training in Singapore, Singapore trainees visiting India under the CII-Enterprise Singapore India Ready Talent Program, and Indian engineers working in AEM. The visit of both leaders to the company shows the commitment of both sides to develop cooperation in this field. PM Modi praised PM Wong for this. Along with this, Singapore's semiconductor companies were invited to participate in the SEMICON INDIA exhibition to be held in Greater Noida from 11 to 13 September 2024.
