PM Modi met Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and said, direct flights will start soon between the two countries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Brunei on 3 September. During his visit, the PM met the country's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and discussed many important issues. After he visited Brunei, PM Modi posted on the social media handle X and said, my visit to Brunei was very productive. He also said that his visit has now strengthened the relations between India and Brunei.

PM Modi said during bilateral talks in Brunei, I express my gratitude to His Majesty and the entire royal family for this warm welcome. He said, that although this is the first bilateral visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Brunei, every moment we are realizing the centuries-old relations between the two countries here.

This year is the 40th anniversary of Brunei's independence, he addressed the Sultan and said, "Brunei has achieved progress under your leadership. On behalf of 140 crore Indians, I wish you and the people of Brunei all the best." PM Modi said, "On this occasion, we have had a comprehensive discussion on many aspects. We are committed to strengthening our cooperation in economic, scientific, and strategic areas."

Also, PM Modi said, direct flights will be started soon to increase the connectivity of both the countries. He further said we have decided to focus on agriculture, industry, and health as well as technology and cyber technology. Also, we have discussed to move forward in the field of energy. Consideration has also been made to increase cooperation in the defense sector.

To strengthen our cooperation in the field of space, we have agreed on satellite development, remote sensing, and training. Also, PM Modi said about the citizens-to-citizens relationship between the two countries, our citizens-to-citizens relationship is the foundation of our country's partnership. I am happy that the Indian community is making a positive contribution to Brunei's economy and society.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a 3-day visit these days. The PM first reached Brunei on 3 September, where he met the country's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, and many important issues were discussed between the two countries, after which the PM will now be on a visit to Singapore on 4-5 September.
