The United Nations Human Rights Working Group has called Imran Khan's arrest a violation of laws. The UN group said that Imran has been arbitrarily detained in Pakistan. Along with this, they also talked about Imran's release. However, no clarification has come from the Pakistan government on this issue yet.

Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been in jail for the last one year. It is alleged that Imran Khan has been forcibly and arbitrarily imprisoned by the current government of Pakistan. But he may get relief soon. The United Nations Human Rights Working Group has said that sending Imran to jail is a violation of international laws. The UN organization said that Imran Khan has been arbitrarily detained in Pakistan. The body has also called for Khan's immediate release. The UN said that the right should be given to compensate for the loss caused by the release of Imran Khan.

The institute further said that there was no legal basis for Imran Khan's detention. It seems that he was declared ineligible for political gains. The UN Working Group gave this opinion on March 25 itself. Let us tell you that it is not necessary to follow this comment of the UN. There are no specific rules to follow it. But this comment of the institute is being considered important.

The arrest was made before the general elections

A five-member team of the United Nations Human Rights Working Group has said that the action against Imran was politically motivated. It was part of a special campaign against his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Members of Imran Khan's party were arrested ahead of the 2024 general elections. This UN working group also alleged that there was widespread fraud and rigging in dozens of parliamentary seats on the day of the general elections.

What did the Pakistan government say

However, there has been no clarification from the Pakistan government on this issue. The Election Commission of Pakistan had denied any rigging in the February general elections. General elections were held in Pakistan in February. Before that, Imran Khan was arrested in the month of August. Several cases were registered against him. At the same time, the Pakistani court had recently given relief to Imran Khan in two cases.
