Oscars 2023: Plot in Australia, travel to Canada, and know what's inside the gift hamper worth $126,000!


One of the great events of the year, the 95th Academy Awards is taking place on Monday morning at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. This year, all nominees will receive a stunning gift hamper valued at $126,000. Yes! Not all those enrolled will go back empty-handed.

According to reports, it will also include a $40,000 holiday in Canada for three nights, a stay for eight people in a restored Italian lighthouse, a plot of land in Queensland, Australia, luxury fragrances worth $400, a three-night Italian getaway package, $9,000 worth of skincare products, Japanese milk bread, Battil Dates gift box, $12,000 worth of Art Lipo plastic surgery, body sculpting vouchers and more.

Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress nominees will receive this Oscar goodie bag. They also have the option of declining the gifts. Meanwhile, The Elephant Whispers became the first Indian film to win an Oscar for a documentary short subject.


The Elephant Whispers beat out four other films Hallout, How Do You Measure a Year, The Martha Mitchell Effect, and Stranger at the Gate in the Best Documentary Short Subject category. The Indian short film was predicted to win an Oscar by many experts and trackers. Accepting the award, director Karthik Gonsalves dedicated it to 'Mathrubhoomi Bharat'.

Produced by Guneet Monga, Sikh Entertainment, the film had its world premiere on 9 November 2022 at the NYC DOC Film Festival, a film festival for documentaries in the US. It was eventually released worldwide on Netflix on 8 December.
