Two big American companies surrendered in front of India in 24 hours. Both these companies are giants in their respective fields. One is Mark Zuckerberg's Meta and the other is Hindenburg Research. While Meta, especially Zuckerberg, was spreading false news about India in the world, Hindenburg was issuing reports against industrialist Gautam Adani and his group. Meta realized its mistake and has also apologized, while Hindenburg's shutter has been down. It announced this on Friday.

Let's talk about Hindenburg first. Hindenburg Research has been running a campaign against the Adani Group for the past few years. Its report published in 2023 accused the Adani Group of stock price manipulation and financial irregularities. At that time, the Indian billionaire had lost billions of dollars. Adani and his companies, however, denied all the allegations.

Hindenburg is an American investment and research company. The decision to shut it down has been taken at a time when the transfer of power is about to take place in America. It was started in 2017 by Nathan Andersen.

Why did the company close down?

Anderson said, "Why should it stop? There is no particular reason. No danger, no health issues and no personal problems. Someone once told me that at a certain point a successful career becomes a selfish act. Initially I felt I needed to prove certain things to myself. Now I want some peace for myself."

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Anderson said that he is excited to pursue his hobbies, travel and spend time with his fiancée and their child. He has saved enough money for the future. He plans to invest his money in low-stress investments.

Meta apologized

Facebook's parent company Meta has apologized for Mark Zuckerberg's comment in which he said that the current government of India was defeated in the 2024 elections. Zuckerberg had said in a podcast, "Most of the current governments, including India, faced defeat in the 2024 elections after the Covid pandemic."

The Indian government objected to his statement. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had criticized Zuckerberg for making misleading statements about India. Vaishnav had said in a post on X on January 13, Zuckerberg's claim that most incumbent governments, including India, faced defeat in the 2024 elections after the Covid pandemic is factually incorrect.

After this, Meta India Vice President Shivnath Thukral wrote on X, Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Mark Zuckerberg's statement that many ruling parties were not re-elected in the 2024 elections is true for many countries, but not for India. He said, we apologize for this inadvertent mistake. India remains an important country for Meta and we hope to be at the center of its innovative future.
