On which mission is China working in collaboration with Saudi Arabia and Iran?

The distance between Saudi Arabia and Iran is decreasing. America's biggest enemy China is working to reduce the gap between these two big powers of the Middle East. Where till now America and Russia had a stronghold in the Middle East, China is also preparing its ground here with its strong diplomacy.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that the second meeting of the Saudi-Chinese-Iranian joint trilateral committee to advance the Beijing Agreement was held in Riyadh on Tuesday. This meeting was chaired by Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim Elkheriji, in which China's Deputy Foreign Minister Deng Li and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi were also present.

Beijing agreement will be implemented.

Saudi and Iranian officials reaffirmed their commitment to fully adopt the Beijing Agreement and strengthen neighborly relations by adhering to the UN Charter, the Charter of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and international law, which emphasizes respect for sovereignty, independence, and security.

Saudi Arabia and Iran also praised China's initiative and called its efforts important in the Beijing agreement. China also reiterated its commitment to improving relations between the two countries.

Relationships will be stronger.

In the meeting, emphasis was laid on furthering consular services, due to which more than 87 thousand Iranian pilgrims have come for Hajj and more than 52 thousand Iranians performed Umrah in 2024. Apart from this, Iran and Saudi expressed readiness for tax-free trade and hoped to expand economic and political cooperation with China.

The officials also welcomed the first meeting of the Saudi-Iranian Joint Media Committee and the agreement reached between the Prince Saud al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies and Iran's Institute for Political and International Studies.

Protest against israeli action

During the meeting, the three countries condemned the Israeli attack on Palestinians and appealed to the international community to stop it immediately. Apart from this, the Israeli army's entry into Lebanon and the violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity were condemned.

What is the Beijing Agreement?

In March 2023, under the mediation of China, both countries restored their diplomatic relations which ended in 2016. Under this agreement, both countries had expressed positivity on working on mutual business, partnership cooperation, etc. Now both the countries had met again in Riyadh to fully implement this agreement.
