The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasing all over the world. AI is being used in everything from education, and security to medical surgery. Dubai Police has started using AI to control traffic. Dubai's roads are now equipped with state-of-the-art radar technology, which is capable of detecting six different traffic violations with the help of artificial intelligence.

A company called KTC International has made these radars. With its help, traffic laws can be strictly followed and road safety will improve.

According to Iyad Al Barqawi, CO of KTC International, this radar can identify violations such as using a mobile phone while driving, sudden lane change, not wearing a seat belt, improper lane discipline, and illegal tinting of the windshield.

Noisy vehicles will be curbed.

Another AI technology has also been successfully tested with the radar, which is able to detect more vehicle noise, thereby further enhancing the radar's capabilities. Al Barqawi said, the AI-powered radar identifies violations with accuracy, for example, it can distinguish between clothing and seat belts even in low light.

Many types of violations will be curbed.

Apart from this, this radar will also take care of lane discipline, distracted driving like using the phone, window tinting as well as the safety of people walking on the footpath. This includes monitoring vehicles at crossings for pedestrians.

Praising Dubai's excellent infrastructure, Al Barqawi said the radar design further enhances the emirate's advanced road network. "With highways having up to 10 lanes, these systems are vital to maintaining order and ensuring public safety," he said.

Effective as well as portable

This radar is not only effective but also portable. It can be easily installed on the barrier and can be taken anywhere as per the requirement of the police, which is suitable for the changing needs of traffic control. This radar has been deployed on the roads after four months of testing, the company claims that it detects violations accurately. Only time will tell how effective it proves to be for Dubai, if all goes well then it can be deployed in different countries of the world as well.
