Crime News: Police in California, US have solved a 45-year-old heinous crime case. The case is related to the murder of 17-year-old Esther Gonzalez, whose body was found in a snow pile on a highway near Riverside County on February 10, 1979. Investigation revealed that Esther was first raped and then brutally beaten to death.

Esther lived with her parents in Los Angeles and on the day of the incident, she set out on foot to visit her sister in Banning, which was about 137 km away. During this journey, a criminal waylaid her and raped and killed her. Her body was dumped on the side of the highway. The police investigated the case thoroughly, but for decades they could not find any evidence, due to which the case was shelved.

Now, 45 years later, the police have succeeded in solving the case. In fact, the semen samples found on the victim's body matched the DNA, and these samples matched a man named Lewis Randolph Randy Williamson. The shocking thing is that Williamson died in 2014. According to the information, the accused had worked in the US Marine Force and he himself informed the police about finding the body. The condition of the body was so bad that it was difficult to identify it. It was also not clear whether the body was of a woman or a man. The police had also interrogated Williamson at that time, but nothing came out in the polygraph test, due to which he was considered innocent and was released.

The mystery of this case was revealed when Williamson's DNA sample was tested after his death. After his death in Florida, the police sent the samples of the body to a lab in Texas, where it matched with the victim's sample. After this, the police became sure that Williamson was the culprit of this crime.

The victim's brother Eddie Gonzalez and sister Elizabeth said that Esther was a very shy girl and she was the fourth among her 7 siblings. The family thanked the police for bringing out the truth even after so many years. However, the accused has died and the family is regretting that they cannot take any legal action against him. But they are satisfied that their sister got justice.
