The Russian capital Moscow was rocked by a massive bomb blast on Sunday. A high-ranking general of the Russian army and his assistant died in this explosion. The death of a high-ranking officer is being seen as a big loss for Russia.

Russia's Investigative Committee said that Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the chief of the Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Defense Force (NBC), was leaving a residence block on Tuesday morning when a bomb hidden in a scooter exploded, killing him.

In the pictures that came after the explosion, the door of the building can be seen as badly damaged. Along with this, the glass panes of the surrounding windows are also broken and two body bags are also kept there.

Restrictions were imposed on the general.

In October, Britain imposed sanctions on Kirillov, saying he had monitored the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine and served as an important mouthpiece for Kremlin propaganda. On Monday, Ukraine's intelligence agency SBU also accused him and said on Telegram that he was responsible for the large-scale use of banned chemical weapons.

The bomb was installed in an electric scooter, in which about 200 grams of TNT was used. General Kirillov and his assistant died on the spot in the blast. The Russian Investigative Committee has registered a case of murder on this incident and the investigation is going on rapidly. The police is searching for the suspects by seizing the footage of the cameras.
