The building of the consular division of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus was damaged in Israeli air strikes. According to the information, all the people present inside the building have been killed or injured. Syrian government media gave this information on Monday.

Iran's Arabic-language state television Al-Alam and Arabic region television station Al-Madin said that Iranian military advisor General Ali Reza Jahadi was killed in the attack. Jahadi previously led Iran's elite Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria until 2016.

Iranian Ambassador Hussein Akbari condemned Israel and said that at least seven people died in the attack. He said that rescue workers still feared that people were buried under the debris. The ambassador said that two police officers deployed to protect the building were injured.
