Israel Hezbollah War: The situation in the Middle East has become very serious in the last few days. After the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli attack, the fear has been strengthened that the entire region could get embroiled in a major conflict. The last 12 days have changed the balance of power in the Middle East.
- 17-18 September: In Lebanon, there were two days of blasts in the pagers and walkie-talkies of Hezbollah members. At least 37 people were killed and thousands injured. Hezbollah blamed Israel for these attacks, but Israel did not take direct responsibility for it.
- September 20: Israel attacked a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut. According to media reports, 55 people, including a top Hezbollah commander, were killed in the attack.
- September 23: Israel launches a massive bombing raid on Lebanon, hitting 1,300 targets. Hundreds of people are killed in a single day. This was one of Israel's largest military actions.
- 25-26 September: Amidst continuous Israeli attacks in Lebanon, there were retaliatory attacks from Hezbollah as well. At the United Nations summit in New York, world leaders appealed for de-escalation of tensions. The US and its allies appealed for a 21-day ceasefire. However, Israel rejected it. According to media reports, Hezbollah also did not accept it.
- 27 September: Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations and talked about 'defeating Hezbollah'. After this, on the same day, he ordered an attack on Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut. The real target of this attack was Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a major attack on the Hezbollah headquarters in Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut, late Friday night, in which Nasrallah was killed.
- 28 September: On Saturday, the IDF announced the death of Nasrallah. A few hours later, Hezbollah also confirmed the death of its leader. Nasrallah became the Secretary General of Hezbollah in 1992 at the age of 30. Over the past 32 years, he made Hezbollah a major force not only in Lebanon but also in the Middle East. He became Israel's enemy number one. Finally, on Friday, the Jewish state succeeded in eliminating its biggest enemy.
- According to media reports, Israel continues to bomb Hezbollah bases in Lebanon. There is a danger of the conflict spreading on a large scale. Iran's response will be important on this issue, which supports both Hamas and Hezbollah.
