Israel has crushed the Houthi rebels, preparing to achieve victory through this Muslim country!
Israel's military action in Gaza has been going on since the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023. More than 45 thousand Palestinians have died in Gaza in Israeli attacks and about one lakh people are injured. The Israeli action started in response to the Hamas attack has destroyed the lives of common people in Gaza. People neither have a safe place to live nor adequate food arrangements.
On the other hand, in response to Israel's fierce attacks in Gaza, Hezbollah from Lebanon and Houthi rebels from Yemen also started attacks. While Israel approved a ceasefire in November after a long conflict with Hezbollah, it is constantly trying to break the Houthi rebels of Yemen. According to media reports, Israel is now preparing to win against the Houthi rebels of Yemen by joining hands with its neighboring Islamic country.
Preparing for attack against Houthi rebels!
Israeli sources have claimed that Egypt, under pressure from Tel Aviv, is planning to launch a major airstrike against Ansarullah (Houthi rebels) in Yemen. According to a Yemeni media report on Wednesday, Israeli researcher and member of the Dayan Center at Tel Aviv University Yehoshua Meir Lichter said in a message that he had received 'confidential information' about Egypt's intervention with Israeli support to stop the Houthi rebels and prevent the fall in revenue through the Suez Canal.
Will Egypt attack under Israeli pressure?
He said that the Egyptian Air Force is planning offensive action against the Houthi rebels, who have caused a lot of damage to Egypt. Meanwhile, international law expert Mohammed Mahmoud Mehran stressed that Egypt has the right to take necessary measures to protect its national security, pointing out that threats to maritime navigation pose a direct threat to Egypt's security.
He said international law, including Article 51 of the UN Charter, gives States the right to self-defence. He also noted that the 1982 Convention on the Law of the Sea reaffirms the right of States to protect sea lanes and stressed that any potential action by Egypt must be proportionate to the scale of the threat and consistent with international legal principles.
Egypt suffers major losses due to Israel-Houthi conflict
In fact, a fierce battle is going on between Israel and Yemen's Houthi rebels. As a result of this conflict, Egypt has suffered huge financial losses as its income from the Suez Canal has fallen by 60 percent. This loss to Egypt has been estimated to be around $ 7 billion (about Rs 600 billion). Due to which Egypt is currently going through a serious economic crisis.
Situation like Syria in Egypt- Expert
Analysts say that if the economic crisis in Egypt continues like this, then the situation there can also be like Syria. The government of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, who has been in power since 2014, is also likely to fall like Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Inflation is at its peak in Egypt, making the daily life of the people difficult. Egypt's currency is losing its market value, while many analysts have warned that Egypt may face a situation like Syria, given the current situation. That is, President Al-Sisi may have to leave his post or he may be forced to leave the post.
This is the reason why Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has appealed for help from friendly countries as well as India and Saudi Arabia, because his country is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Egypt loses billions due to Houthi attacks
According to a report by Middle East Eye, due to Israeli and Houthi attacks, commercial ships from around the world are avoiding using the Suez Canal route, which is expected to cause a massive 60 percent drop in Egypt's earnings in 2024. According to the Suez Canal Authority, this loss amount is about $ 7 billion. Before the Gaza war began, 12 percent of the world's trade was being done through the Suez Canal. This canal is a 'lifeline' for Egypt's economy.
America, Britain and Israel attacked the Houthis
On the other hand, since the beginning of Israeli attacks in Gaza, Houthi rebels have been continuously targeting Israeli and American merchant ships in the Red Sea. Since November 2023, the Houthis have carried out more than 100 attacks on ships passing through the Red Sea. They have announced that they will not stop attacks in the Red Sea until Israel stops attacks on Gaza. Due to this, shipping companies have to go around South Africa, which is a very long, time-consuming and very expensive route.
To stop the Houthi rebels, America, Britain and Israel have carried out several attacks on the Houthi rebels' bases in Yemen, but the Houthi rebels are increasing the intensity of their attacks. Due to which it is believed that Israel is now preparing to rein in the Houthi rebels through its neighbor Egypt.
