Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Russia and discussed these issues with Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met on Friday. During this, a 20-year strategic partnership was signed between the two countries. This agreement was made to promote military and intelligence cooperation as well as other areas. The coming together of Iran and Russia can definitely increase the concerns of Western countries.
Under the agreement, Russia and Iran have promised to share intelligence between security services, conduct joint military exercises, and cooperate in training officers. Apart from this, both countries have vowed to ensure that their land will not be used for any action against each other.
Iranian President said – beginning of a new chapter.
Russian President Putin called the deal a real breakthrough and said it would provide conditions for stable and sustainable development of Russia, Iran and the entire region. Putin also highlighted the trade and economic benefits of the deal, including the sale of civilian nuclear technology to Iran and the supply of Russian gas. Iranian President Pezeshkian called it the beginning of a 'new chapter' in relations with Russia.
Growing concerns of Western countries
The growing military and intelligence cooperation between Russia and Iran is being closely watched by Western countries. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned in September that Russia could help Iran's nuclear weapons program. However, Iran has rejected these claims and insisted that it has not supplied missiles to Russia. Despite this, Iran exports its Shahed 136 drones to Russia and also helps in their manufacture.
Russia-Iran alliance against the West
Experts believe that the growing confrontation with the West has brought Russia and Iran closer. Hannah Notte of the James Martin Center said that geopolitical confrontation against the West is motivating both countries to increase cooperation. However, due to its interests in the Gulf region, Russia has not yet completely inclined in favor of Iran.
