Iran got Putin's support regarding its nuclear program... Russia surrounded IAEA
Western countries are continuously putting pressure on Iran regarding its nuclear program, Israel has vowed that it will not let Iran make nuclear weapons. On the other hand, European countries including America are accusing Iran of running a nuclear program secretly.
Iran has got Russia's support in this matter. Russia has asked the IAEA, the global body that monitors nuclear programs, to adopt an impartial stance on the issue of monitoring Iran's nuclear facilities.
Russia came out in support of Iran.
Russia has stated that the UN body should avoid politicizing the issue. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that the IAEA should maintain impartiality in monitoring Iran's nuclear activities and should not bow to the pressure of Western countries.
'IAEA should not bow to pressure from Western countries'
According to TASS news agency, Zakharov said, 'We hope that the IAEA will be able to ensure the impartiality and objectivity of monitoring within the framework of its technical order necessary for monitoring, without playing politics, without succumbing to the distorted tactics of the Western camp.'
Russia said that we see this as an essential guarantee for constructive cooperation between Iran and the IAEA and we have always supported it.
IAEA chief made a big claim about Iran
Actually, this statement of Russia came after the claim of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi in which he said without any evidence that Iran can develop nuclear weapons. Iran had strongly objected to this statement of Grossi and Iranian officials had called the IAEA Chief biased.
Biden administration expressed concern about Iran.
Although the IAEA chief has made a big allegation against Iran without any proof, the US has also reiterated his claim. The Biden administration is worried that a weakened Iran can make nuclear weapons. White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that he has informed the team of newly-elected President Donald Trump about this threat from Iran.
