India's threat in Trump 2.0 regime, Jaishankar met the new US Foreign Minister after the Quad meeting

The first meeting of the Quad foreign ministers after Donald Trump became president was held in the US, in which S Jaishankar also participated. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday attended the first Quad ministerial conference of the new Trump administration along with his counterparts from Australia, Japan, and the US. Apart from this, he held meetings with newly appointed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. The Quad is a group of four countries whose aim is to maintain peace and law and order in the Indo-Pacific region.
Let us tell you that soon after the Quad ministerial meeting, the new US Secretary of State Rubio had his first bilateral meeting with Jaishankar, which lasted for more than an hour. India's Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra was also present in the meeting. Rubio and Jaishankar appeared before the press for a photo session after the meeting, shook hands and smiled at the cameras.
After meeting Marco Rubio, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar wrote on Twitter that it was a pleasure to meet for our first bilateral meeting. We reviewed the bilateral partnership, of which Marco Rubio has been a strong supporter. We also discussed many regional and global issues. Jaishankar said that we are looking forward to working together to advance our strategic cooperation.

Quad Foreign Ministers Meeting
In fact, earlier as Secretary of State, Foggy Bottom of the State Department and Foreign Minister Rubio held their first multilateral meeting with their Quad counterparts S Jaishankar, Australia's Penny Wong and Japan's Iwaya Takeshi. At the end of the hour-long meeting, the four leaders posed for a group photo at the State Department.

Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar posted some pictures on Instagram and wrote that attended the Quad Foreign Ministers' meeting in Washington DC today. Thanks to Marco Rubio for hosting us and FM Penny Wong and Takeshi Iwaya for their participation. Significantly, the meeting with the Trump administration took place within hours of the inauguration of the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting. This reflects its priority in the foreign policy of its member countries.
S Jaishankar said that our discussions agreed on the importance of thinking big, strengthening the agenda and accelerating our cooperation. Today's meeting sends a clear message that in an uncertain and unstable world, the Quad will remain a force for global good.
