Relations between India and China have improved a lot compared to earlier. A month ago, NSA Ajit Doval visited Beijing and now Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is visiting China. The Foreign Secretary will go on a two-day visit to China on January 26. He will discuss many issues including the border with his Chinese counterpart here. The Indian Foreign Ministry has given this information.

Last month, Ajit Doval visited Beijing. During this time, he held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the border issue. This will be the second high-level visit from India to China in less than a month and a half.

The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a statement saying that the next steps for India-China relations will be discussed between Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and his Chinese counterpart. This includes areas such as political, economic and people-to-people relations. Apart from this, many issues including ways to reduce tension on the LAC in eastern Ladakh and resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will be discussed.

These issues were discussed in the Doval-Wang meeting

In the meeting between NSA Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang, cooperation including restarting the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, sharing river data and border trade was discussed. India has always been saying that its relations with China cannot be normal until there is peace in the border areas.

Patrolling resumed in Demchok and Depsang

After the process of withdrawal of troops in Demchok and Depsang was completed, the Indian and Chinese armies resumed patrolling in both the areas after a gap of about four and a half years. This decision was taken in the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan on 23 October. After this, there has been an improvement in the relations between the two countries. However, things are still not fine on many issues.
