A horrific road accident took place on Friday in the West African country of Ivory Coast. In this road accident, two minibusses collided with each other. 26 people died in the accident. At the same time, more than 28 people were seriously injured.
After this road accident, the Transport Ministry issued a statement saying that both the minibusses collided in Brokoua village in the Center West of the country. It has also been said in the statement that an investigation is being conducted in the matter.
What did the Transport Ministry say?

Also, in the statement, the Transport Minister once again asked all road users to respect the traffic rules and be more cautious in road traffic.
Road accidents are increasing in the country
When we look at the statistics, road accidents are not a new thing in Ivory Coast. Road accidents are increasing a lot in the country due to dilapidated roads and careless driving. More than a thousand road accidents are recorded in the country every year.
Last month, a road accident took place in the country in which 21 people were killed and 10 were injured. Earlier this year, a tanker truck and a bus collided in northern Ivory Coast, in which 13 people were killed and 44 were injured.
Transport Ministry made rules
In view of the increasing road accidents in the country, last year the authorities introduced a point-based driver's license, giving each driver a total of 12 points, which can be gradually removed depending on the violation. Cameras have also been installed on the main roads of the country to fine the offenders.
