The controversy has heated up over a statement by US President Donald Trump on Greenland. Trump has threatened to annex Greenland to the US. He reiterated his statement in a conversation with the Danish PM. But now European Union military chief Robert Briger has made a big announcement against it. He said that we will also deploy troops in Greenland.

Let us tell you that Austrian General Robert Briger is the chief of the military committee that provides security to Greenland. He said that by doing this, China and Russia would get a clear message and they would not be able to look at Greenland with the wrong eye.

200 American soldiers deployed

Actually Greenland is very important for America. 200 American soldiers are deployed at Pitufik Space Base here. They keep an eye on the missiles. There is also a Space Command Center here, from which satellites are monitored. General Briger told in an interview to a German newspaper that in my opinion not only the American Army should be deployed in Greenland but soldiers of the European Union should also be deployed there.

He said that this will further strengthen the security of the Greenland region. There are many important minerals under the melting ice caps in this area. Russia and China have their eyes on it. They want to grab it by any means. This can increase the tension so much that a situation of war can also arise. Therefore, to save Greenland, we will have to deploy European Union troops as well.

In whose hands is the security of Greenland?

Greenland is not a member of the European Union. It is protected by Denmark, which is one of the 27 members of the Union. Trump had earlier said that he would like to keep Greenland with him at all costs. On Denmark, he said that you have Russian and Chinese ships, you have ships from many countries. I think we will get it.

US control over Greenland

President Donald Trump said the US will regain control of Greenland. "I think we're going to get it," he said. "The island's 57,000 residents want to stay with us," he said. His comments came after reports that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen insisted in a fiery phone call with the president last week that Greenland was not for sale.

Trump raised the possibility of buying the vast Arctic region during his first term in 2019, saying US control of Greenland was an essential requirement for international security. Trump said, "I think people want to be with us."

Relation to freedom of the world

He said that I don't really know what claim Denmark has on it, but if they don't let it happen then it will be a very unfriendly act because it is for the security of the free world. Trump further said that I think we will get Greenland because it is related to the freedom of the world. It has nothing to do with America except that we are the only ones who can provide freedom.
