Five people were killed in Ukrainian shelling in the Russian border region of Belgorod, while Russian forces targeted a hotel in eastern Ukraine, injuring two people and leaving a journalist missing. Russian regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said 12 others were injured in the Russian village of Rakitno, 38 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, including a 16-year-old girl who was in critical condition.

Ukrainian regional governor Vadim Filyashkin said Russian forces attacked a hotel in the city of Kramatorsk in the eastern Donetsk region at night, injuring two people and trapping one person in the rubble. The three people are said to be journalists from Ukraine, the US and Britain.

A journalist who went to cover the war in Ukraine goes missing

The Reuters news agency said on Sunday that one of its journalists covering the war in Ukraine was missing and two other team members were hospitalised. It said the incident happened when the six-member team staying at the Hotel Sapphire came under a missile attack on Saturday.

Building hit by Russian shelling
