Explosions in Lebanon are not happening without reason, it is part of Israel's North Border planning!
Thousands of pagers blasted in Lebanon on 17 September and the very next day on 18 September, walkie-talkies suddenly started exploding. Both these devices are considered the lifeline of Hezbollah's communication network. It is believed that Israel has caused this destruction in Hezbollah's communication network.
Even though Israel has not directly taken responsibility for these attacks, statements from its top officials indicate that this is the work of none other than Israel.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has made it clear that a new era of warfare has begun. Without mentioning the blasts in Lebanon, Galant praised the work of the Israeli army and intelligence agencies and said, 'The results are very impressive.'
Why is Hezbollah a target of Israel?
Why has Israel suddenly launched such a large-scale campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon? There are many reasons behind this, but the biggest reason is Israel's North Border Policy.
In fact, Israel started attacking Gaza after Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October. Gaza is situated on the southern border of Israel. Thousands of Palestinians have died in this war against Hamas. On one hand, Hamas is trying to take on Israel, on the other hand, Hezbollah has also waged a war against Israel since 8 October. Hezbollah describes the attacks on Israel as an attack in support of its ally Hamas and the Palestinians in Gaza.
Hezbollah wreaked havoc in the Northern region.
Israel is surrounded by Muslim countries on all sides. Its northern region borders Lebanon. Syria is in the northeast, Jordan in the east and southeast, Egypt in the southwest, and the Red Sea in the south. There are differences with Lebanon over many areas of northern Israel and Hezbollah considers Israel's occupation of these areas illegal. This is just like Hamas considers Israel's occupation of many parts of Gaza illegal. It is believed that Israel has settled millions of Jews in illegal Israeli settlements in the northern region, who keep oppressing the Palestinians.
Due to its proximity to the Lebanon border, Hezbollah has been continuously targeting the northern areas of Israel for the past year. Some Israeli soldiers have also died here. Due to Hezbollah's attacks, about 60 thousand Jews have had to leave Northern Israel.
The return of the Jews is the new goal of the war.
This is the reason why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has included this in the new war goals during the security cabinet meeting on Monday. The Prime Minister's Office has said that Israel has made the safe return of residents living in the northern part of the country its official war goal. It has also been said that Israel will continue its actions to achieve this goal.
Attack on Hezbollah part of North Border policy?
These sudden explosions in Lebanon are being considered as a part of this action of Israel. Israel's enmity with Hezbollah is decades old but in the current situation, the safe return of Jews to the northern part has become a question of credibility for Israel.
Israeli Army Chief General Herzi Halevi visited the Northern Command on Wednesday, during which he said, "The Israeli army is still equipped with such capabilities that have not been demonstrated till now." He said that when the Israeli army is carrying out a phase of the war, preparations for the next two phases are already completed. Halevi has said that Hezbollah will have to pay a higher price in every phase of the war.
It is clear from these statements of the IDF Chief that Israel has prepared a foolproof plan against Hezbollah. When these plans are activated one by one, pictures of devastation will keep coming out from Lebanon. Till now Israel has not been seen playing on the backfoot on the battlefield and the destruction caused by Hezbollah's communication system is also an example of this.
After Hamas, now Hezbollah's account?
In this war which has been going on for about a year, on one hand about 97 Israelis are still held captive by Hamas, and on the other hand, the northern region has been emptied due to the terror of Hezbollah. Not only this but when the missile of Yemen's Houthi rebels reached Tel Aviv, it raised questions about Israel's strength. Amidst all these questions, Israel has once again intensified its aggressive stance. In this episode, Israel has deployed about 20 thousand soldiers on the Lebanon border. That means now it is ready for military operations in Lebanon as well as Gaza.
Israel is adopting the same strategy against Hezbollah as it adopted against Hamas. When Israel started the ground operation in Gaza, it first weakened Hamas through attacks so that it would face fewer challenges in conducting the ground operation. Similarly, Israel is now conducting a campaign against Hezbollah. Through these blasts, Israel has attacked Hezbollah twice; first, it destroyed Hezbollah's communication system, and second, thousands of Hezbollah fighters have been injured, which has weakened the organization. It has now become easier for Israel to enter Lebanon's border and conduct a military operation against Hezbollah.
