Europe will be crushed… As soon as Trump took oath, there was chaos in NATO countries.

Donald Trump took oath as the 47th US President at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington DC. The swearing-in ceremony was held behind closed doors due to the bitter cold. Trump vowed to work swiftly after the ceremony and signed the first round of pre-prepared executive orders on immigration and border security. As soon as Trump took the oath, there is panic in some European countries. In fact, Donald Trump has long been questioning the role of NATO, which has been a main pillar of security in Europe since World War II.
He threatened last month to leave the alliance if NATO members did not increase their spending. According to newly published NATO data, countries that meet the target of spending 2% or more of GDP on defense include the US (3.6%), Greece (2.2%), Estonia (2.14%), the UK (2.10%), and Poland (2%). France spends 1.8% and Germany 1.2%.
Even before winning the election, Donald Trump had said that the European Union was reducing the purchase of American products. Therefore, European countries will have to pay a huge price for it. Trump had said in a rally that, the European Union sounds very good, but it is a group of small European countries. They do not buy our cars. They do not buy our agricultural products. At the same time, they together sell millions of vehicles in America. They will have to pay a huge price. Now Trump has said that the deficit with the European Union will be reduced by imposing tariffs or buying oil and gas.
The French fear
The French President said, 'If our American ally withdraws its warships from the Mediterranean Sea, what will we do in Europe tomorrow? What if (America) transfers its fighter planes from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean? These are all situations for which we need to be prepared. Europe can no longer rely solely on America in terms of weapons. European countries need to increase investment in domestic defense industries.'
The French PM said, 'With the inauguration of the President, a decision has been taken on a politics that is incredibly dominant, if we do not do anything then we will be dominated, we will be crushed. We will be marginalized. The way forward depends on the people of France and Europe. If a plan is not prepared to deal with the policies of Donald Trump, then the whole of Europe will have to suffer.'
Tension also increased in Germany.
A confidential cable of Germany's US ambassador, Andreas Michaelis, was leaked, in which he mentioned Trump's "plans of revenge". Michaelis wrote that Trump wants to make the presidency more and more powerful, which can weaken American democracy. This cable was published in Germany's leading newspaper Bild. When Germany's Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, was asked about this leak, she accepted it and said, 'The embassy writes reports, it is their job ... and the US President has already announced what he is going to do. We have to prepare for it.' The German government is worried about Trump's second term and is preparing a strategy for it.
