Israel had said that its war against Hamas in Gaza would continue throughout the year. This statement came when Washington said that the Rafah attack was not a major ground operation that would change the US policy. At the same time, despite the order of the International Court, Israeli tanks entered Rafah in the middle of Gaza for the first time on Tuesday,

Amid Israel's attacks on Gaza and Rafah, Hamas on Thursday talked about a full settlement. Hamas said that if Israel stops its war against the people in Gaza, then they are ready for a full settlement including the release of hostages. Hamas said that Israel will have to stop its war and aggression against the people in Gaza.

This statement of Hamas came when Israel continued its attack on the southern Gaza city of Rafah, despite the order of the United Nations' top court, the International Court (ICJ), to stop the attacks.

Ready for release of hostages

Hamas and Palestinian factions will not accept to be part of this policy by continuing (ceasefire) talks in light of the aggression, siege, starvation, and massacre of our people. It said that today, we conveyed to the mediators our clear position that if Israel stops the war and aggression against our people in Gaza, then our readiness is to reach a full settlement, which includes the release of hostages from both sides.

Israel has rejected Hamas' previous offers as insufficient and said it is committed to wiping out the group bent on its destruction. It says its Rafah attack is to free the hostages and root out Hamas fighters.

The war against Hamas in Gaza will continue

Israel said on Tuesday that its war against Hamas in Gaza would continue throughout the year after Washington said the Rafah attack was not a major ground operation that would change US policy. Israeli tanks on Tuesday for the first time entered central Gaza's Rafah, where many Palestinians had taken refuge to avoid bombardment, despite an International Court of Justice order to halt its attacks on the city.

More than 35 Palestinians killed

More than 35 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in Rafah following Israeli attacks on the southern Gaza Strip city on Sunday, according to Palestinian health and civil emergency service officials. Rafah is home to hundreds of displaced Palestinians who fled northern Gaza since Israel's counteroffensive against a Hamas offensive on October 7 last year.
