Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a special discussion on IMEC with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During this, he emphasized taking the work of the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC) more seriously to promote regional connectivity and prosperity.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during the conversation, PM Modi also conveyed his heartfelt best wishes to UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. PM Modi expressed happiness over the frequent high-level visits and relations between the two countries, including the visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in September 2024. He said that both countries have maintained bilateral relations from generation to generation.

In which areas will we work together?

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two leaders emphasized on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership, including in the areas of technology, energy and people-to-people relations. UAE Foreign Minister Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the UAE's views and perspectives on the current situation in West Asia. During the discussion, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India's commitment to support long-term peace, stability, and security in the region.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi has also discussed many other major issues with the UAE. He thanked the UAE leadership for matters related to the interests of Indians. PM Modi said that both countries are committed to working towards peace, stability and security in West Asia and the wider region.
