At the end of the year 2024, relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan became very tense when Pakistan carried out an airstrike on terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan. A large number of people were killed in the attack. In response, the Taliban ruling Afghanistan also retaliated. Now it is being claimed that the Pakistani army has entered the border of Afghanistan. However, different claims are being made about the conflict situation.

Police chief of Afghanistan's Badakhshan province Azizullah Umar has denied reports claiming that Pakistani troops have entered a strategically important area in the province's Wakhan district. Also, according to local reports, some residents of Badakhshan have called on the caretaker government to pay serious attention to the security of the country's border region.

There is no Pakistani force in the Wakhan corridor: Police.

According to Azizullah Omar, Afghan defense and security forces are deployed in the Wakhan corridor. So far, there has been no activity from Pakistani forces in this area.

The police chief also stressed that the Afghan security forces will not allow any country to enter Afghanistan's territory. He said, "The reports published in the media are not correct. We are in constant touch with our security forces. There is no problem at the moment, and no one has the courage to enter Wakhan. Our defense and security forces are fully prepared to counter any attack."

Claim of occupation in Pakistani media

This happened after some Pakistani media recently claimed that the country's army attacked the strategically important Wakhan corridor in Badakhshan and captured parts of the region.

However, the people of Badakhshan are requesting their caretaker government to pay serious attention to the security of the country's region. Abdul Saboor, a resident of Badakhshan, told local media Tolo News, "Pakistan can never attack Wakhan. There was an agreement between the previous governments. But the Islamic Emirate will not allow this now. Another person from Badakhshan says, "Our demand from the Islamic Emirate is to strengthen and protect the borders."

Afghanistan and Pakistan border

The Wakhan Corridor, located in the Wakhan district of Badakhshan province, is considered a strategically important area, which is the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is also recognized as a border area between China and Tajikistan.

Earlier on Saturday last week, Afghanistan's Defense Ministry said that its forces attacked several places inside Pakistan in response to deadly air strikes on the country. On December 24, Pakistan launched an operation against insurgents and destroyed a training center in Afghanistan's eastern Paktika province. Many people were killed in the air strike carried out by Pakistan, mostly women and children.
