A Pentagon report has revealed a big thing about China. Chinese President Xi Jinping had some time ago refused to use any kind of force to gain control over Taiwan, but according to the Pentagon report, the Chinese army is secretly preparing to attack Taiwan.
The Pentagon said that the Chinese army is working to achieve the goal of modernizing the army by 2027. According to this plan, the modernization goals for 2027 include accelerating the integration of intelligence, mechanization, and other equipment, as well as increasing the pace of modernization in military doctrine, personnel, weapons, and equipment. However the progress of these goals may be affected due to corruption.

According to the report, China has added at least 100 new weapons to its nuclear stockpile last year and a target has been set to increase their total number to around 1000 by the year 2030.

In a media briefing, US defense officials have said that corruption has already had a huge impact on China's military, as the pace of military projects, including the defense industry, has slowed down due to the removal and replacement of senior officers. The report states that several officers have been removed from China's Rocket Force, a special unit of the PLA that oversees the most advanced conventional and nuclear missiles.
