China is growing rapidly in earning wealth…GDP growth is 5%, but it is losing strength in increasing the population.

India's neighbouring country China is rapidly progressing in earning wealth but it is continuously lagging behind in increasing the population. China's population has registered a decline for the third consecutive year. This decline is no less than a big challenge for the Jinping government. Last year China's GDP growth was 5 percent but this year it may decline. One reason for this may also be the declining population.
Declining population can be a big risk for China's economy. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the total number of people in China fell by more than 1.39 million to 1.40 billion last year. However, the birth rate has increased slightly. Last year 95.4 lakh children were born in China. 90 lakh children were born in 2023. Declining population and the aging population due to it is becoming a global problem.
Decreasing population is a problem of many countries.
This problem is especially serious in East Asian countries. Apart from China, a huge decline in the birth rate has been observed in countries like Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong. For the last three years, China has also joined the list of countries with declining population like Japan and Eastern European countries. It is estimated that the pace of population decline in China will increase even more in the coming decades.
By the year 2035, China's population will decrease to 1.36 billion. In the next 75 years, i.e. by 2100, it will decrease to half of its current size. There are many reasons for the decreasing population in China. Inflation and unemployment are making the youth shy away from getting married and having children.
The population balance is getting disturbed due to the decrease in the birth rate of children. There is a shortage of working people. This is a cause of concern for the country's economy. The one child policy which was in force for a long time in China is also the reason for the decreasing population.
