Till now Ukraine did not have permission to attack Russia with long-range and lethal weapons. If Ukraine attacks with missiles capable of hitting deep inside Russia, then this war can take a more terrible form due to the Russian response.
Why might the war get longer?
After Trump's return, it was expected that the Ukraine-Russia war could stop. But Biden has given Ukraine a free hand in his last days. Now Ukraine can target Russian soil at will with the destructive weapons received from NATO countries. Russia has already warned that if any help from NATO countries is used against Russia, it will target NATO countries along with Ukraine.

There has been a large-scale opposition to Biden's decision in Russia. Andrei Klishas, a senior member of the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian Parliament, reacting to the US decision on Telegram, said that Western countries have escalated tensions to such a level that it could endanger Ukraine's existence. Apart from this, Russia's international affairs official Dimir Dzhabarov said that if Ukraine attacked inside Russia, it would be a step towards the beginning of the Third World War.

Donald's eldest son Trump Jr. has criticized President Biden and the Democratic Party over this decision of the Biden administration. He said that even before my father gets a chance to establish peace, Biden wants to start the Third World War.
