Learning from the political setback caused by the SP's PDA formula in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has started an initiative to bring about changes in its form and functioning. The BJP is engaged in creating new social engineering by giving a different form to its UP organization from booth to state level. After the booth presidents of the BJP, the list of Mandal presidents has started coming, in which the name of the appointed Mandal president along with his caste is clearly mentioned. In this way, the BJP has made a strategy to defeat the opposition in the assembly elections to be held in 2027 by giving about 50 percent share in its organization to Dalits and backward classes.

BJP had set a target of forming UP organization by December 2024. After booth presidents, now 60 percent of the work of appointing Mandal presidents has been completed. BJP has started releasing the list of districts in which Mandal presidents have been appointed. TV-9 has received one such list, which is of Sonbhadra district. BJP has declared Mandal president and district representative in Sonbhadra district, in its list caste is clearly mentioned along with the name. All castes and classes will be included in the appointment of the Mandal president, the caste which has more number in the area has been given prominence.

Strategy to outwit opponents

Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are in 2027, before that BJP has a strategy to defeat its opponents with its strategy. Through the organization, BJP is engaged in creating such social engineering, through which it wants to counter the backward Dalit minority equation of SP on the ground. Therefore, the BJP is preparing to play a different political bet by removing leadership from these classes at all small and big levels. The way BJP has made a strategy to give place to Dalits and backward classes from booth level to division and state level, the future plan of the party can be understood through it.

In the list of BJP's Mandal presidents, names of different castes have been written along with Dalits and OBCs. For example, Mrs. Seema Gupta has been made the Mandal president of Ghorwal in Sonbhadra, in front of whom her caste is written as Baniya. Similarly, Shivdwar Mandal president Vimlesh Choubey has been made, with Brahmin also written next to his name. Similarly, Madhupur Mandal has been given the command of Vijay Chauhan, Gaurishankar Mandal president Rambali Maurya, Shahganj Mandal president Manish Kumar Patel and Karma Mandal president Ashutosh Singh Ankur, with whose caste is also written next to their name.

BJP's focus is on Dalit backward classes

The interesting thing is that BJP has taken special care in appointing Mandal presidents from different castes instead of appointing Mandal presidents from a single caste in an assembly constituency. It is also being taken care of that Mandal presidents are being appointed from the caste and class which is in majority in the area. In this way BJP has created new social engineering by giving due respect to other castes. BJP is working on a strategy to keep four to five major castes together in one assembly constituency.

A senior UP BJP leader, on the condition of anonymity, said that this time the party has planned to give 33 percent women and 50 percent Dalit-OBC participation in the organization. That is why, from the appointment of booth level presidents to the appointment of Mandal presidents, caste is also being mentioned along with the name. He said that the BJP is trying to create a strong social engineering by giving place to all castes and classes in the organization.

A bet to counter the strategy of SP

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had created the backward-dalit-minority i.e. PDA formula. SP's PDA formula was a hit in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Due to this, SP managed to win 37 seats out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP. BJP has been reduced to only 33 seats, due to which PM Modi could not form the government on his own i.e. with majority. BJP has had to form the government with the help of its allies. Learning from the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has adopted a strategy to counter SP's PDA formula by giving place to Dalits and backward in the UP organization according to their population and to come up with a strong social engineering for the elections to be held in 2027.
