Hindu saint Chinmay Krishna Das has been in Bangladesh jail for more than a month. A hearing on his bail was held in the Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge's court on Thursday, but the court rejected his bail. The court heard the case for 30 minutes. In which the court heard both the parties.

It is clear that Chinmay Das will have to spend more time in jail. Earlier on December 11, a Bangladesh court had rejected Das's initial bail plea due to procedural flaws.

Due to the ill health of Chinmay Das's lawyer, 11 lawyers participated in the hearing on his bail plea. The lawyers said in the court that Chinmay Das is suffering from several serious diseases, yet he has been wrongly kept in jail.

Kolkata ISKCON VP Radha Raman said that this is very sad news. We know that the whole world was watching this. Everyone was hoping that Chinmay Prabhu would get freedom in the new year. But even after 42 days, his bail was rejected in the hearing today. He said that the Bangladesh government should ensure that he gets justice.

Lawyers did not attend the hearing.

Lawyer Chinmoy Krishna Das was admitted to the cardiology department on Tuesday evening due to chest pain. Due to physical illness, he did not attend the hearing of Chinmoy Krishna, who is in jail in the sedition case, in Chittagong Court on January 2.

What are the allegations against Chinmay Das?

Dhaka Police had said on the arrest of Chinmay Das that Das is accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh. These allegations against Chinmay Das have been made by former BNP leader Feroz Khan. Khan had alleged that a rally of the Hindu community was held in Chittagong on 25 October.

It was here that Chinmay Das and 18 other people disrespected the national flag of Bangladesh. However, the interesting thing is that Firoz Khan, who was then a leader of BNP, was expelled from BNP a few days after making the allegations on charges of anti-party activities. Meanwhile, the police started investigating this case and have arrested two people.
