US President Donald Trump has recently shown increased interest in Greenland, after which the Prime Minister of Greenland has become aggressive towards Trump. Now he has proposed to hold elections in the country on March 11. Along with this proposal, it was also considered in the Parliament that foreign political donations received during the elections should be banned.

Banning foreign aid in the election could be a big setback for Trump. Because Trump has his eyes on Greenland and he would want his candidate to be elected in the election here so that America's interests can be fulfilled. Egede said in a post on social media without naming Trump, "This is a time we have never experienced before in our country."

He further said, "This is not the time for internal division but for cooperation and coming together for our country. I am ready to work for you and lead our country again."

When will the elections be held?

Greenland's Prime Minister Mut Egede on Tuesday proposed that general elections be held on March 11. It seems that the independence of the Arctic island is going to be the main issue of this election. US President Donald Trump's new demand to achieve this has given rise to a sense of patriotism. The Prime Minister of Greenland said, "We are going through a serious time and I want the Parliament to accept the proposal."

Foreign donations will be banned.

According to the law, political parties will not be allowed to take donations from foreign or anonymous donors. Apart from this, no single party will be able to take more than approximately 28 thousand dollars in the form of domestic private contributions.
